American Bar Insurance Plans Consultants, Inc. (ABI) has a new name: American Lawyers Insurance Plans, Inc. (ALIP).
A trusted name in the insurance industry for over 28 years, ABI has offered quality products and services at reasonable rates to members of the American Bar Association, their families and their firms. The new name reflects its expansion to offering products and services to all lawyers in all 50 states and the District of Columbia from the newly admitted to the seasoned retiree.
Established in 1988 as a wholly-owned subsidiary of the American Bar Endowment, ALIP was created to generate an additional source of revenue to support the Endowment’s charitable goals. The American Bar Endowment supports the charitable activities of the American Bar Association. ALIP sponsors insurance programs for attorneys that the Endowment is unable to offer due to its dividend contribution structure.
